(Beijing, November 30) The qualifications of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 Trampoline Gymnastics International Invitational Tournament which closed this evening at the National Indoor Stadium left the host team with mixed feelings as two Chinese girls topped the women's side while on the men's side, the Chinese suffered from waterloo.

After two-round qualifications, each side had eight trampolinists entering the finals.

In the women's division, China's Huang Shanshan and teammate He Wenna finished first and second with Russian Irina Karavaeva, the world champion, and German Anna Dogonadze, Olympic gold medalist at Athens 2004, also cruising into the final.

On the men's side, World Championships No.1 and No. 2 Ye Shuai and Dong Dong of China encountered challenges from such arch rivals as Yasuhiro Ueyama of Japan and Ukrainian Yuriy Nikitin, Athens Olympic champion.

Dong, leading in the first round, made an unreturnable error in the second and might probably miss the final. Same situation came across to Nikitin, who failed to qualify for the final.

Italy's Flavio Cannone led the group with Henrik Stehlik of Germany and Dmitry Ushakov of Russia ranking third and fifth respectively. China's Ye and his Japanese counterpart Yasuhiro Ueyama also made to the final.

The women's and men's finals will be held at the National Indoor Stadium on December 2 and 3 respectively.
