(Beijing, November 30) Huang Shanshan of China finished first in the women's qualification of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 Trampoline Gymnastics International Invitational Tournament held this evening at the National Indoor Stadium with teammate He Wenna ranking second.

In spite of getting the highest mark tonight, Huang said that she still lags behind Irina Karavaeva, titlist of the World Championships.

"Today the foreign athletes suffered from too many turnovers and didn't bring out their best," Huang noted, attributing their unforced errors to the lack of adjustment after the recent World Championships. "You could get a 0.8-point penalty by stepping on the frame pad and that would probably cause disqualification," she added.

Huang said at present the more important task for her is to add difficulty to her routines and strive for virtuosity in performance. "The best way to achieve the goal is to compete, or I'll have to take more and more training," she said.

"He Wenna performed gracefully and Zhong Xingping stably," Huang commented on her teammates' performances today, saying "The three of us are on the same scratch line."

As the bronze medalist at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, Huang looks forward to better results in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
