China's Huang and He lead women's qualification

(Beijing, November 30) Huang Shanshan and her teammate He Wenna of China finished first and second in the women's qualification of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 Trampoline International Invitational Tournament held this evening at the National Indoor Stadium.

Altogether 16 trampolinists competed in the two-round qualification with eight cruising to the final. Huang scored 30.40 and 37.70 points in each round for a 68.10 total to top the standings with teammate He earning 67.10 (30.00 and 37.10) to be the second.

Zhong Xingping, Li Dan and Luo Dan, representing the Chinese Gymnastics Association (CGA) at the event, settled for third, fourth and sixth respectively, but their results and rankings would not count for the next phase.

Rosannagh Maclennan of Canada combined 29.60 and 36.90 for 66.50, standing at fifth. Olena Movchan gained 65.00 (28.40 and 36.60) to rank seventh.

The other four final positions went to Russian Natalia Chernova (64.90), Uzbekistanian Anna Savkina (63.00), German Anna Dogonadze (62.50) and Jaime Moore (62.30) of Great Britain.

The women's trampoline final will kick off at 8:15 pm on December 2.
