Students receive intensive training for Good Luck Beijing victory ceremony

(BEIJING, August 13) -- From July 26-August 13, 2007, 84 students from China Women's University, Beijing Changping Vocational School, the Beijing Dance Academy, and several other schools in Beijing will attend an 18-day victory ceremony intensive training program at the Changping Vocational School. The students will participate in victory ceremony services at the "Good Luck Beijing" sport events

The main focuses of the training program include physical conditioning and dance performance. Moreover, the program will cover details of the trainees' physical movement and location during the victory ceremony, process flow of the victory ceremony, Olympic rituals, and other Olympic knowledge.

During the training program there will be a contest held for the students to compete on the skills they have acquired. Upon completion of the program, selected students will continue to train other students at their home universities.

The program's first graduating class has already begun working. One group of the graduates, from the Beijing Dance Academy, had their first real-time drill at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park for the victory ceremony of the 2007 World Rowing Junior Championships on August 11. The group will also serve at the Good Luck Beijing 2007 Canoe/Kayak Slalom Open from August 23-36.

Program graduates will serve at other Good Luck Beijing sport events including the Good Luck Beijing 2007 International Road Cycling Invitational Race from August 18-19; the Good Luck Beijing 2007 International Baseball Tournament from August 18-23; the Good Luck Beijing 2007 International Archery Tournament from August 20-26; the Good Luck Beijing International Boxing Invitational Tournament from November 17-22; and the Good Luck Beijing gymnastics events from November 28-December 7.
