(Beijing, December 6) Today saw the second day for the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 Rhythmic Gymnastics International Invitational Tournament being held at the Beijing University of Technology Gymnasium. Slava Corn, vice-president and chairman of the press commission of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), and André F. Grueisbuhler, FIG secretary-general, spoke highly of the competition management and venue operation as well as the facilities at the venue, using such phrases as "first-class facilities, organizers, media and audience" and "beautiful venue".

Ms. Corn said that she was very happy to participate in this tournament here in Beijing and hoped that next year's Beijing Olympics would be crowned with success. This time, she noted, the "Good Luck Beijing" tournament, with first-class facilities, organizers, media and audience, was indeed endowed with "good luck". And it was good to see the artistic gymnastics and the trampoline tournaments were immediately followed by the competition in rhythmic gymnastics in this beautiful gymnasium. She also praised the work by the volunteers, and expressed her thanks to the media for covering these sport events.

As André F. Grueisbuhler put it, the "Good Luck Beijing" sport series are a milestone in the Olympic history, which helped test our preparatory work and guarantee the realization of our dreams. He said he was lucky to have been cooperating with related personnel and teams of the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee (BOCOG) in the past four years, and it was no surprise for him to see the successful hosting of the tournament. It was very fortunate for the FIG to work with such a professional venue team from host China, he added, and with the help of these specialists and enthusiastic volunteers and with a beautiful venue equipped with the most advanced technologies as well as an excellent environment the athletes will be encouraged to bring out their best.
