(Beijing, December 1) Okiguchi Makoto of Japan grabbed the gold of the men's floor exercise with 15.800 points of the 2007 Artistic Gymnastics International Invitational Tournament at the National Indoor Stadium this evening. Canadian Brandon O'Neill finished second and Fabian Hambuechen of Germany third.

The floor final which started at 6 pm today witnessed a pitched battle between Japanese duo of Okiguchi Makoto and Uchimura Kohei and competitors from Germany, Romania, Russia, USA, Canada and France.

Despite choosing a 6.300 optional exercise with comparatively low degree of difficulty, Okiguchi finished steadily to score 9.500 for a 15.800 top standing. Both Brandon and Fabian's scores for difficulty were 6.500, but neither of them succeeded to show better personal expression in technical execution of their routines.

Plus the silver won in the men's team final on November 29, Okiguchi Makoto has become the only one gymnast so far earning two medals at the tournament.

Finals of the women's floor, pommel horse and vault will be held later tonight.
